🔧 Help Me Build

Public·183 members

Tell us a story about a time where you had someone go out of their way to help you get a project finished on your car in a crunch, whether before a show, an event, a roadtrip, whatever it was.

Brag about your friend or family member for a bit, we have to remember to be grateful for the support we do have. And humble, with understanding that not everyone has people who’ve got their back like that.

I remember when I was first getting started working on my car and I was crunching numbers, i noted how expensive the build would take. In comes my friend who had a broken down 330i telling me he had parts for me and I could take what I needed. This man casually gave me a k&n cold air intake, rear trunk handle, shadowline trim, brand new BMW emblems, and so much more. I appreciate what he's given me, he's a great man, and whenever I work on my car, I always remember what he's given me. without him, I wouldn't have gotten this far with my project!

What is the WORST part about an engine swap, whether that’s direct or an entirely new engine.

Is it the custom fabrication, the wiring, the aquiring all the necessary parts. What do you loathe the most in the process.

Wiring for me

Phew

The weekend is over - while everyone was at the lake, bbqing and hanging out with friends and family, the husband and i sent the weekend in the shop.

We pulled injectors and coils from a 335i, a trans, driveshaft and motor from a mustang, and a 2jz from an es350.

Got lots done - still have lots more to do.

This weekend is a drift event, then the following will be spent pulling the rotary from the b2200 and dropping the 5.0 and components into it - hoping the driveshaft will fit and we wont have to get a custom one made (quoting estimates about $700 😭).

Did anyone else get into any projects over the holiday?
