Small story about my Odyssey
It’s started as 1997 Honda Odyssey, my family had this since 2014 gifted from our grandpa, driven everywhere until it broke down and set backyard 2 years, goats been jumping on top of Odyssey, lots of spiders webs, snakes lived there and more creatures, until 2019 on New Year’s Eve, my friend and I were bored had nothing to do, then I had idea to start up Odyssey, so we charged the battery, add new fuel, topped up oil and it started up right away, the first thing we did was remove muffler 😂 oh boi that thing was rowdy. Few weeks went by, I decided to fix it up for my first car when I was only 16. First thing we did was fix the problems and maintenance the who Odyssey and get registered. Few months went by, painted whole odyssey red using rattle can paint, got cold air intake, did muffler delete and wheels.
Drove this Odyssey everywhere, was such a fun car until on May 5th 2021, she broke down, new water pump got seized and snapped the timing belt, lost compression almost all 4 cylinders, had to tow back to our shop.
My dad and I decided to rebuild whole motor and coolest thing we did was 5 speed manual swap with three paddles. “To manual swap you use Honda CD Accord transmission because it’s same chassis as 95-98 Ra Odyssey and bolts right up”
Took us 11 months to finish rebuilding motor and new manual transmission, first test drove for 1/2 mile until we got back noticed oil leaking from under and we lost all oil because oil line popped out of oil cooler but engine still had little bit of oil, filled back up and ran perfect.
Many months went by, did more mods like wheels swaps, hood vents, coil overs, exhaust, Dyno tuned, and more few things.
Took Odyssey many car meets shows, very interesting reaction from people, a lot of people loved it because it reminded them of Van Culture builds.
Some people hated my odyssey, they told me I should sell get Honda civic, I will be laughing 🤭 told them, everyone’s Honda civic builds are same, mine is Unique one and it will be getting crazier mods. Took my odyssey to race tracks and drag race few times and people loved it because it’s so COOL!
So one day my fiends decide to go Los Angeles get some rare parts from Japan, and I tagged along because I was looking specific body kit that was made long time ago but no luck but we went to secret warehouse had lots of different kind of body kits, I asked them if they had odyssey body kits but they had nothing. One guy worked there came up to me said Bring your van to the back, so i did brought back of warehouse and workers started bringing all different kinds of bumpers, side skirts and more to test fit and we found ChargeSpeed bumper and side skirts that fitted good just need to modify and most importantly was the style I wanted. After I bought it and my friends bought rare parts for there Hondas, loaded up full in my Odyssey and drove back to Arizona, and bought more few rare parts of Facebook and eBay to complete my dream build.
Few months later I gave my odyssey to my two friends who are professional at making custom work and paint, took about 13 months to complete and when it was finished, it looked so beautiful that I ever seen and never imagined I would go that far on this 1 of 1 masterpiece build, thanks to my friends who managed to make a dream.
First drive after 13 months, I was so happy and missed driving it that I almost had the tears from happiness.
Took to car show called USDM Super Meet, and people’s reaction were speechless when they saw it, so many people taking pictures, asking questions about my build and most importantly to me is seeing other people’s smiles on their faces.
Just driving down the roads, I see so many people staring at my odyssey because it looks so crazy, loud and red shiny paint.
Well I am really grateful I have this amazing 1 of 1 build, definitely not stopping there, gonna keep pushing my dreams to achieve the goals I wanted.
Soon it will be getting twin turbo F23 which is no one has done it before so I am excited to do this, more updates will be on instagram and YouTube channel, TheFirstGenOdys

Dude this is EXACTLY the kind of story that makes people fall in love with car culture again.
Not because it’s the fastest thing on earth or because it cost a million dollars, but because there’s actual life behind it. The whole image of this abandoned Odyssey sitting with goats climbing on it and then you randomly deciding “yeah let’s bring this thing back” on New Year’s Eve is legendary already 😂
And honestly the fact you and your dad rebuilt the motor AND manual swapped it makes it so much cooler. That’s the stuff people remember forever. Most people would’ve sent that van straight to a junkyard and never thought twice about it.
Also the part where you said the best thing about shows was seeing other people smile at the build… that says a lot honestly. That’s the side of the scene that matters way more than trophies or internet points.
