Where Should We Host Our First National MP Show? 🏁

As Midnight Pretenders continues to grow across the country, we’ve been kicking around ideas for our first major MP-hosted show.

So let’s hear it:

If we were to host our first big event, where should it be and why?

We’re looking for locations that are:

• Reasonably accessible for members traveling in

I don't think this is my year. I ended up totalling my motorcycle from an accident that wasn't my fault and then last week, I was in another accident with my Supra. Damages don't seem bad but it definitely hurts a lot.

But on a good note, this kick started me into my plans on revamping its look.🩷🌸

A lot of us grew up during an era when cars had personality.

You could tell a car was a Supra, RX-7, NSX, Viper, Evo, WRX, S2000, or Mustang from half a mile away. They had quirks. They had flaws. They had character.

Lately it feels like a lot of manufacturers have been chasing the same formula bigger screens, more technology, and designs that all blend together into the same silver blob.

At the same time, there are signs that some manufacturers are starting to remember why people fell in love with cars in the first place. Toyota bringing back the Supra, GR86, and GR Corolla. Honda bringing back the Prelude. Nissan talking about the future of the Z. Enthusiast cars are still fighting to exist.

So here’s today’s question:

If you could influence automotive manufacturers over the next 10 years, what would you want to see?

Had the first wisco chapter meeting and it was a great day. Only half of the interested guys showed up but it's quality over quantity. All three are down to join, should have another black tier and two silver tier joining and getting bannered here soon.

Wisco is growing fast with like minded laid back people that just want to work on their rides and cruise. Going to be at 5 members here in wisco.

How many other states are having regular meetings/get together's? Would love to see what you got going on...

I am currently in a bit of a once in a possible lifetime opportunity and would like to see if someone could help me out.

My boy Rumble (Bill) has a GD Subaru chassis that he cut in half and is willing to give me the rear end for me to make as a mini trailer to hook up on my Hawkeye. The issue I’m having is he is 6/7 hours away from me in Binghamton NY. Now I am going to be passing through to Salem MA for my sisters wedding late July.

Is there any chance in the universe, any of yall live close to him, and would be willing to hold the cut chassis with you til July 29th? That’s when I’d be leaving Salem to come home and would be able to tow it back home to VA.

If not I understand, I figured I throw…

Just recently paid off my WRX and the title came in!!! Feels good to not have anymore debt. On top of paying off my car I also paid off a few grand I had in credit card debt. Not having all these monthly payments anymore feels great! Will be moving within the next two months and purchasing a home is my next big goal. My credit just went up 80 points which is awesome since I’ve been working on improving it for the last few years. Now that everything is in the clear I’m so much closer to what I’ve been working towards for a while now. At 35 years old things are finally starting to fall into place!

What Do You Hope to See More of in Car Culture Going Forward?

I’ll kick this one off.

Personally, I’d love to see more originality and less pressure to follow trends.

Not every car needs to be the lowest, fastest, most expensive, or most viral build on the internet. Some of the coolest cars I’ve ever seen were built because the owner had a vision and stuck to it, even if nobody else understood it at first.

I’d also love to see more people helping each other out. More sharing knowledge. More supporting small businesses. More encouraging newcomers instead of tearing them down because they’re just getting started.

At the end of the day, this hobby is supposed to be fun. Whether you’re building a show car, a track car, a drift car, a daily driver, or just trying to keep an old project alive, there’s room for everybody at…

Whats up guy been pretty quiet life been doing its thing had a baby not long ago so been enjoying that for a bit just recently got my car back from the shop getting a exhaust manifold replaced to a tubular one and it its doing good going to try to be more involved hope everyone has a good weekend

One thing we’ve been talking about lately is finding more ways to connect the club outside of comments, posts, and DMs.

Not a boring business meeting. More like everyone hopping in, talking cars, projects, upcoming events, road trips, industry news, life updates, and just putting voices to names.

We have members from all over the country, and while the app has done an awesome job connecting people, there’s something different about actually hearing the people you’re building relationships with.

Had a great time at the “Salute To Armed Forces Car Show” today. Met another MP member and came away with Best in Show. Proud to rep the club and set the bar for positive car culture 💪

A lot of RS Owners having flats/bent wheels from potholes. RS comes with well, but not even a donut.

Can get foam jack & side inserts off the Crosstrek platform -- but adding those makes the cargo tray sit up about 3/4" higher in that tire area.

Mine sits flush & I like that. Drove it all over today, quiet.

I know most of us can at least change our own tires but this has been the most difficult one ive ever had to do 🤣

Thing is out in a gravel back lot, completely dead, and needs A LOT of specialty lifting equipment. That wheel weighs as much as a Miata!

What’s one thing you genuinely miss about the older automotive scene?

Not the cars themselves necessarily, but the feeling around it.

Lately it feels like everything has turned into a competition for attention instead of appreciation. People building cars for engagement instead of building something that actually makes them happy. Every meet turns into rev battles, takeover clips, ego contests, or people trying to prove who spent the most money.

Meanwhile some of the coolest builds we’ve ever seen were held together by zip ties, late nights, scraped knuckles, and a vision nobody else understood yet.

That’s honestly a huge reason Midnight Pretenders exists in the first place. We wanted to build a space where:

— People can ask questions without getting clowned

It’s started as 1997 Honda Odyssey, my family had this since 2014 gifted from our grandpa, driven everywhere until it broke down and set backyard 2 years, goats been jumping on top of Odyssey, lots of spiders webs, snakes lived there and more creatures, until 2019 on New Year’s Eve, my friend and I were bored had nothing to do, then I had idea to start up Odyssey, so we charged the battery, add new fuel, topped up oil  and it started up right away, the first thing we did was remove muffler 😂 oh boi that thing was rowdy. Few weeks went by, I decided to fix it up for my first car when I was only 16. First thing we did was fix the problems and maintenance the who Odyssey and get registered. Few months went by, painted whole odyssey red using rattle can paint, got cold air…

Oh man, I just want to vent into the void without my job seeing it. But man the only reason I’m still here is cause it pays the bills right now. Working for a dealership is rough. Wish I could get into aftermarket parts instead or anything performance.

The burn out here has been the biggest reason I lose motivation to work on my own car. But here I am tonight slaving over my motor after a 10 hour shift..

Short story, I had a company reach out to me about a potential sponsorship with them. Still waiting on the details but it’s been making me think about selling the 240sx and look for a Forester to build next. Weighing out everything at this point. I love a chassis but Subaru has been my thing for years now. Forester would had been my choice but I got the 240 for a deal I couldn’t say no to… idk thinking too much in my garage

My name is Jason (Jdel) from Va Beach in the 757 and I drive a 1998 Honda Acty Street, imported from Japan. It’s been almost a three year process and getting closer to full restored, along with some personal tweaks to make it my own. A lot of guys go more of the tuner route with these, which is awesome. Living at the beach and this being my daily, I’ve opted to honor its island roots and merge that with my daily surfing to make the quintessential Japanese beach van. With nods to surf and skate culture, along with JDM sprinkled in, it’s been a labor of love.

Still a lot to do on my list of upgrades and mods, but it’s such a blast to stay connected to the scene while bringing something unique to meets & shows.

I thought my fuel filter was clogged and it turned out to be that the hose clamp on the fuel filter was actually loose. Did all of this just to tighten one 😂

After a long wait time, i finally got her back on the road! Mods are piling up, and will be installing soon! Also, learning Temphra v7 so i can tune her a little before putting haltech to work as the ecu.

Whats up yall sorry for the absence an not being very active life has been lifen but that's no excuse I do however have some new goodies for the evo 😈 i was able to pick up a set of coilovers, and tubular exhaust manifold, and a new steering wheel next im going to be getting the paint to redo my front bumper so it's all one color hopefully before this car show season really gets going

I only have a Pic of the manifold I will for sure post some pics when all is installed I'll also work on being more active on insta as well
