Let’s get more in this thread, this is what it is all about!

Built or Bought

The ages long argument/debate. Does it truly matter if you buy a pre-built car? Are you a firm believer on building your own car? Does it not matter, and all that matters is that you enjoy it? What are your opinions, and why do you think that it is such a controversial topic?

If your not going to talk crap or down on other builds it's fine that you bought your ride.

But in my opinion if your judging other people's work and creativity but can't even turn a wrench, I think you need to politely shut the f*ck up.

Update time

Its been a minute since I've posted and I'm very excited to show what I've been teasing on my IG for the entire winter.

Want to note that it'll be getting lowered on this upcoming saturday. But for the week this is where I stand.

-BC Extreme Low Coils installed and ready for drop

-Epsilon Aero Front lip and side skirts. Tried my hand at painting them to match the car and it came out okay. Needing some wet sanding and polish.

-Kansei 18x8.5 Hyper Silver Tandems with the special edition blue center caps.

I'm really pleased with how much it changed the car overall. Different personality. Lmk what you all think. Little things I could add to the car? Headlights arrive in the future 🤫

‘23 GR Corolla

The 1.6 liter G16E-GTS engine is still relatively new and I’m learning a lot from the GR Yaris forums and community about it while I build. So this build is slow, but deliberate.

I’ll start with what I first swapped out and make my way through the list.

Engine pitch mount: DeltaX Motorsports with 70a insert

Shift assembly kit: RacerX

Aero: Tom’s Racing Type TK wing

Slow and deliberate is the move with a platform this new. Love seeing you take the time to actually learn the G16E instead of rushing the usual bolt-on recipe. DeltaX mounts, Regas in white, and a Tom’s wing is already a killer combo this is shaping up to be one of those builds that ages beautifully. Can’t wait to see how the exhaust setup ties it all together. 🔥

When I first got the civic and the current day!

I dig that lip kit. It's subtle enough but REALLY adds to the car. And I'm always a fan of yellow fog lights.

Show off your 'before and after' (even if it's just one part). Let's celebrate the small victories!"

Got a long way to go still on the engine bay but progress is progress. Working slowly away at cleaning up the messy factory bay on this car. Little by little.

Got rid of the dinner table sized mid-line wing the previous owner installed and added a Blitz wing, cut out the factory faux exhaust tips in the bumper to make space for a real exhaust, rear wiper delete, partial de-badge. Little stuff, but it all makes a difference.

Sad day, but can’t wait for the results.

Just left my baby at the shop (I work there) so I can start pulling motor for upgrades, reseal and maintenance like timing, rings, gaskets, etc.

friend of mine is gonna tow the body to his house so we can wrap it and install all the new exterior too while motor is out. Then gut the inside and upgrade interior too.

Hate seeing him not in his spot at home. But can’t wait for spring when I start him up again and get a new tune. 🖤 I’ll make sure to post progress photos. But I may be a ghost for a bit with late night build sessions lol.

The project car

The day I got it, vs. about 2 months ago. 1.5 years of time and dedication has made the car virtually unrecognizable from where it was when I got it 👍 need updated pictures cuz even more has been done since this photo, but thats a surprise for later
