Build Progress

Progress, but delayed slightly.

Don’t mind me lookin awful, my boyfriend just wanted a quick shot of me doing my AN fittings on my new lines. And I appreciate him for rebuilding my fuel pump for me so I can focus on the bay.

Tuner sent my base map to me last night, I was hoping to have the car started but I ran into an issue with my FPR set up and need an extra fitting to finish my lines. But I’m so close I can literally smell it…. Or is that just me high off the gasoline fumes? Lol

I will say, I’m extremely lucky to work for a dealership who values me enough to allow me space to work on my car for as long as I want. I was here working from 9am to 7pm and I stayed after til 1AM knocking this out. Now I’m back here working again.…

Nothing but the best luck!!!

Modify, Diagnose, Repair, Repeat

Seems like there’s always something but this one made me laugh a little. I switched to a metal under tray a while back which did not require the use of the rearmost mounting point. I was getting a wild vibration sound which I thought was a heatshield… and I did actually have one on the up pipe that had broken loose. After spot welding it back on I was still getting the same metal on metal vibration sound. Well, at least it’s fixed so I guess that puts me back at “Modify” in the cycle!

Carbon! But cheap = fitment issues

More weight loss, more carbon! It doesn't fit perfectly though, the passenger side sits a bit high. I think the mold this company used is either slightly off or they released it from the mold too early. Worst case, I get ahold of Seibon or VIS racing and order a new hood from them down the line. The weight difference is significant though, can feel the front end is lightened up as the stock hood is like 60lbs and this one might be 10-12lbs

Honestly man fitment is looking great 🫡

Chitchat

welp

So to start off I had this post in the wrong channel so I moved it here. Long story short I had dropped my Z off at a autobody shop to get a polyurethane Nismo V2 front bumper installed (got it for the durability) and when I went to go pick it up after it had been at the shop for 24 hours and had been sitting all day the next day, went to start it and my engine started knocking I sat there confused and it started to run normal after it had warmed up, I got to a intersection and all of the sudden my "Check Engine Soon" light started flashing followed by my V6 turning into a V5 when I got back to my house I ran a engine scan and it came back as cylinder 3 was misfiring so been fixing that

Hopefully it ends up being something simple on cylinder 3 like coil pack, plug, injector connection, or maybe something got bumped loose while it was sitting at the shop. The fact it smoothed out after warming up at first almost makes it sound ignition/fueling related more than anything catastrophic, which is at least a little reassuring.

Guess the wheels

Good old 1980s C4 hurricanes

Onto a new beginning (R.I.P) “Ghost”

  • I recently crashed my EG hatch. It’s tragic to have this event happened, but don’t worry I won’t be gone for long!

  • Next build will be an Integra OEM+ (ish) build

  • I’m ok, just little injuries.

I would say a great first step is getting fitment dialed in. Have you looked into suspension yet at all?

What is the most annoying bolt you have broken? I gotta know

Definitely a Subaru Wrx Turbo Stud/Bolt. Absolute nightmare to deal with.
